How to Advertise & Advertising Rules

Where Can I Advertise?
I'm going to be vague here and say this: Advertise where appropriate. There are a variety of places to Advertise, but sometimes, it's best to avoid such places unless you know what you are getting yourself into. I've advertised on Neopets before for a Warriors RP I used to own [It's against the rules to post off-site links on Neopets, so in this case, I would say it is inappropriate]. Other ProBoards sites are going to be our main target for Advertising. However, other sites with chat features are acceptable locations to Advertise such as Chicken Smoothie, Kugyay, or even Transformice. It all depends on the person advertising and where they are comfortable advertising. Remember though that the majority of chats have rules against advertising; do not proceed to post our link somewhere unless you have confirmed it's safe.

How Can I Advertise?
The main way to advertise is posting our advertising form on other ProBoards sites. Sharing our link and providing others with information about our forum is also a neat way to advertise if you're outside of ProBoards. If you're advertising on other ProBoards RPG sites, use one of the forms below and make a new thread on that site's advertising board (remember to follow their rules!)

Advertising Rules

1. Be Polite. When advertising, you are representing our forum. So be careful what and how you present yourself. If you're outside of ProBoards and members have questions, don't be rude with your answers. We want Hidden in the Stars v.2 to be an inviting and welcoming environment.
2. Follow Site Specific Rules. If a certain site has rules regarding where you advertise, please follow them. Rules keep things neat and tidy. We have Advertising rules here and expect others to follow them, so do the same.
3. PM the Admin of Any Advertising Done. I like to keep records and part of that includes site traffic and general guest interest in joining. If you went into an advertising session of posting our banner on various RPGs or simply told one of your friends to join our site, let me know. The more advertising you do the better, but I like to keep track of who and where people are advertising. Who knows, you may even be rewarded for your efforts. And if not, we may still be rewarded with new members. Double win!

4. Do Not Spam. From an administrative point of view, it's annoying. So please, be courteous and don't spam our link aimlessly. Follow sites' rules, and always remember to check out the first page of another site's advertising board before posting our banner. If you find that another of our members has already advertised there, move on to another site.
5. One Ad per Forum. Do not spam any site with countless advertisements. Do not clog a forum with the same advertisement over and over again. One should suffice, and if anyone from that forum is interested, they will follow the link.
