i don't know. i'm kind of bored. hi, i'm cher and i want to talk about MUSIC.
so uh, anyway. yeah, music. i've always loved music and i guess it helps me get through some things, whether thats original to say or not, it does. so its uh, a big part of my life and yeah, i want to know if you guys feel the same or what kind of music do you guys even listen to???? 

personally i like lots of post-rock, alternative and indie bands. a few favorites are brand new, the front bottoms, modest mouse, pink floyd and uh, the republic of wolves.

but there are also those bands where you only like one song by them. i have TONS OF THOSE and its really upsetting cause I want more music from that band but their other songs are JUST NOT MY STYLE, does that happen to you guys?? its really aggravating

Anyway yeah uh WHAT BANDS DO YOU GUYS LISTEN TO? And whats your favorite genres? if you listen to music that is. if not, thats ok too. you're still loved. [ but i question  how you get through LIFE WITHOUT IT ]

oMG HELP YOU LISTEN TO MIKA

WELL THIS IS A HECK OF A THREAD allow me to summon ☿ Mᴇʀᴄᴜʀʏ this is your thread buddy :)

I'm really your average utterly indecisive fellow about genres- I really have no idea what I like less or what I like most. I can't stand screamo though- if you scream through a microphone throughout the entire song and make the lyrics impossible to understand and all one can hear in the background is completely aimless, distrubingly loud drums- well you lost me in the definition of "music" there. I do listen to some Rock, although it's not my everyday pick. You could say I'm your cheery pop/indie fella. I tend to associate what I listen with what I see. I'm a video editor so along with watching fanvideos I get to listen to a bunch of stuff. When I like what I see, I end up liking what I hear soon after. Today most fanvideos are drown in pop and dubstep so, that is where I am.

BUT OOHHH SWEET BANDS okay I'm definitely not into the bands business as much as you are Cher I feel guilty. But if I can name a few I actually know plenty of songs from;

- Maroon 5
- Owl City (kind of all time favourite)
- Coldplay (mostly their older stuff)
- The Maine
- Panic! at the Disco

I went through an One Direction phase (thaaaanks to my deskmate) I still like them as a boy band but I never stopped yelling about their lyrics. Their songs have delightful beats but if you look into the lyrics, Christ help the young girls who idolize them.

BUT HEY I AM MOSTLY A SOLO ARTISTS PERSON :) :) :) I'm a huge fan of YouTube singers. Tiffany Alvord, Christina Grimmie, Megan Nicole, Madilyn Bailey. I've been into Tiffany Alvord since 2008 so \m/! youtube singers get my vote.

so i made the names of the band bold if you're too lazy to read my whole post cause THIS IS AN ESSAY LOL

Generally, I like rock.
Lately I've been into metal.
I'm also open to indie, alternative, acoustics, bluegrass, and anything softer than rock as long as it's catchy/neatly arranged (meaning: all the stuff fits in the song)/not too repetitive. Oh, and my dad poisoned me with jazz (although he really likes rock too and poisoned me first with it ;u;)
One more thing. I like vocaloids. I've gotten used by their inhumane voice, but the only reason I like them because their composers create really good music.

I'll start by looking at what's in my iPod... e.e ----> Rock first then

Green Day. People thought they were punk but I say they're just rock, just nearly punk. I loved them, which means I'm sort of upset with their current albums and quit being a fan. However, I have every single of their album (13 in all and I'm sort of proud of that) except for the new trilogy (cause it sounds like disco stuff :C).
Evanescence. They're gothic rock with a female vocalist, and some people say they're nu metal. I have every album too. Their acoustic songs were my lullaby when I was little. I'm sort of proud of that too.
Linkin Park. one album.
Black Veil Brides. one album. i could be a bit girly sometimes.
My Chemical Romance. rock. one album. I regret officially being a fan after they broke up ;n; (I only know a few good songs from them before like Helena). They have good lyrics.
Paramore. two albums, Brand New Eyes and Riot!. Their songs are all good and catchy, the guitars in the background are neat. :3
Oasis. I found an album containing maybe 24 of their songs (Time Flies) for a cheap price. Who couldn't resist to buy it? ;u;
And Sum 41. Not much to say. They. are. too. amazing. to. describe. Listening to them every morning so I won't come to school like a zombie c: Oh and the vocalist can imitate Oasis' vocalist so perfectly, I'm amazed :o (listen to Slipping Away)

There's also bands that I don't have the albums of, but I like them. The reason that I don't have their album is because it's not available in my country ;n; Like this Japanese band called Nano. They're like Paramore, but the vocalist's voice is a bit deeper. She is really good in English despite of that she's in a Japanese band cause I heard that she's actually American.
And then there's more girly bands like Breaking Benjamin, Three Day's Grace, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus... <-- is that even girly lol. whoops.
I also like bands like Goo Goo Dolls, All Time Low and Incubus. I like playing their songs on guitar. 
And then there are the grunge rock 90's bands like Silverchair, Nirvana, Pearl Jam... The other 90's band that I like is The Cranberries and on the same group. 

Okay now for metal. 
The reason I like them is cause whenever I'm depressed, the heavy guitars, the screams, and the fast drums cured it for me. It's like they're screaming for me so I really feel better :3 /////creepy emo
Plus although some of them sound like a wreck and like someone was throwing sacks of rice around at a very high speed (oh god that's a horrible interpretation >.<), I believe that it takes high skill to make metal music. Cause. I still can't go that reckless on my guitar. ;u; Besides being lame in playing hardcore stuff I still can't even do speed picking neatly asdfghjkl *cries in the corner

But hey there's still light on that. You can still find guitar melodies that are catchy. Dream Theater is a metal band, yet their songs is like this. CLICK IT, like seriously, click it. I guarantee that there are no screams or anything too hard, trust me. Just guitar melodies drums and a keyboard and bass and the vocalist sits there doing nothing for most of the song. At least try the first part ;u; That's why I like this genre called progressive metal. 
Another band I like is Avenged Sevenfold. Waking the Fallen is the best album and I like them since a few years ago.

and i like lots of random songs from other metal bands and there's a lot i can't remember. *rummages mind* some are Asking Alexandria and uhhh Bullet for my Valentine and uhhhmmm Suicide Silence etc (is it proper to add an etc here lol). it's like what cher said, only a few of their songs fit us.

oh and there's this Japanese nu metal band called Maximum the Hormone. They have a female drummer. They're quite funny, too.

Okay and the last and the weirdest one is Vocaloids
I discovered them two months ago.

A Vocaloid is a voice synthesizer.  They're Japanese. So it's like you take someone's voice sample and the computer tweaks it so it's like singing..? I don't know. But to me, imagine you're using that Windows app called Speech (you can find them somewhere in the accessories) but you can also give notes to it, making it sing.
Of course a human's voice sounds more humane and natural but these vocaloids can reach incredible notes o_o sometimes it's so high pitched it can hurt your ears.
But of course I've found good Vocaloids along with some awesome composers. 

The first one that I found is Hatsune Miku. It started out from some cheerful cute happy songs but I found out her 'dark' side. Her darker songs were created by Nashimoto-P. They sound something like uhhh... the guitar setting is a bit lighter than grunge rock but the beat is some sort of punk-ish (oh my god i'm bad at describing again). The composer also made Miku's voice a bit husky, and I like that since her normal voice is more ear-piercing. And then lately I've found another version of Hatsune Miku, Hagane Miku. I'm not sure if it's fan made but the voice setting is lower in order to sing right and do screamos. She sings metal songs, that's why. My favourite composer is Utsu-P for Hagane Miku.
And there's another Vocaloid called Megurine Luka. She's meant to sing both in Japanese and English but of course her English was still awkward, though her Japanese pronunciation sound a bit classier. My favourite composer is Caz cause they're all metal and the arrangement is really awesome. Luka's voice is also more a bit more humane than Miku.

So the main reason I like vocaloids is cause their songs are catchy, and for that I have to bear the voice XD

So I listen to rock, alternative rock, and punk rock. And now for the list that contains all my dreams I will put them In order of how much I love them

Black Veil Brides: 3 Albums, 2 Singles and Loads of merch, DON'T JUDGE THEM BY THEIR LOOKS!!!!

Sleeping With Sirens: 2 albums, 1 album pre-ordered, 1 single. This happens to be my faveourite song by them, there are plenty of others though

Icon For Hire: 1 album ( but they are releasing a new one soon :))I love Ariels hair PINK! but a cool pink, never thought I would say that i liked pink

Fit For Rivals: 1 album (but i wish they would make another one :() hmmm...... Snake bites -~-

Peirce The Veil: 1 Single, this is the only song i like by them, but i love this song so much, they make my top 5

Blacklisted me:1 single, i only like this song by them.

Falling In Reverse:1 song, i only like this song

Snow Whites Poison Bite: 1 song, just this song, i dont know what it is, i just like it. but the music video is kinda creepy

So they are my favourite Bands/Songs. Hope you like them :P

Music kind of saved me, or what could have happened. I was feeling really depressed because i missed my old school and I was making no friends and doing badly at school. Then I stumbled upon a band called Black Veil Brides (I'm sure you might have heard me mention them once or twice) and was put off by their look. My school is just a swarming mess of 1D fan girls. I was also getting bullied a bit by some girls in my class who (even though their hair isn't blonde) are a bunch of blonde air heads. Then the song 'Perfect weapon' and 'In the end' by black veil brides started to grow on me as i learnt their message. Be yourself don't listen to anyone else. I was immidietly a fan. I soon made 2 friends and one of them listens to Black Veil Brides as well. My music liking grew and soon I had a nice huddle of bands (Black Veil Brides, Sleeping With Sirens, Icon For Hire and Fit For Rivals). I had cheered up, I still get times of ULTIMATE depression, and am still getting bullied. But I ignore the bullying and live through the depression thingys. But ultimately music has made me who I am today and I respect every single artist out there who makes decent music that gives a positive message.

Hella yeah Mercury in the house. I want to thank my ⋆ Phia ⋆, my parents, my dog, my sister, the pope and uncle bob for this post. Just kidding I don't even know who got me into rock music in the first place. I think it's pretty clear by now that I'm into rock since I get really excited when someone likes the same kind of music I listen to??

Anyway yeah, I'm into rock, even though I don't think I qualify styles and generes quite after the 'offical standards' or w/e. I don't even remember what I listened to before rock. Some kind of weird form of rap, I think?? No judging, I was 12. -_- Anyway, I started with Sick Puppies [x][x] and Sum 41 a few years back, from there I went on to the more mainstream bands like Breaking Benjamin, Skillet, 3 Doors Down, Three Days Grace. I don't listen to any of those much anymore, though. A bit too.. flat?? idk. Well I stayed with this kind of bands for about a year, but I got bored with them so I started looking for something more interesting. I found Avenged Sevenfold [x] [x] [x] and Rise Against [who are, in fact, still my favourite band] [x] [x] [x] [x]. Oh, and The pretty Reckless, a class of their own [x] [x]. And of course, can't forget about the oldschool bands like Nirvana, Metallica, Queen, Roxette, The Beatles and RUJA [estonian band awh]. Never forget the oldschoolers. Oh and Apocalyptica [oh man they covered 'Nothing else matters' so awesomely [x]].

Anywho, Rock isn't the only genere I listen to, since my taste in music changes along with my mood [kind of??] Cher got me into The Republic of Wolves [x], who I find absolutely awesome [thank u cher u r aweosme] and ⋆ Phia ⋆ got me into basically everything else, including Bryan Adams, Coldplay, Owl City, Alexander Rybak, Snow Patrol, and so on. And I don't even know where I found Of Monsters and Men, Florence and The Machine, Imagine Dragons and Cider Sky??? Oh and the Estonian bands like Ewert and The Two Dragons and Metsatöll.

And then there's the soundtracks. I can't get past X-Ray Dog [x] [x] [x], Two Steps From Hell [x] [x] [x], Audiomachine [x] [x], they make some epic tracks.

I occasionally listen to Linkin Park, Red Hot Chili Peppers, RED [x] [x], A Perfect Circle [x] [x], Rammstein, and probably a lot of other artists/bands that I can't remember right now.
