Hey guys.
Well, I know that most of you have heard of the tornado that hit where I live on May 20th. It hit my town -- Moore. Yeah, I'm telling you my town, but right now I don't care. My house is currently running on a generator. We just now got water but we've been warned not to drink it because it's contaminated due to the debris that's been in the water and the water's not clean.
Five schools have been hit. My school being included.
Two elementary schools have been turned into crumbles. So far there's over ninety deaths. They're still searching for survivors. The theatre (warren) is a disaster place too. Our hospital is gone. There are even cars inside of it. There were only eight children who died in the elementary schools.
Anyway, I'm fine. My aunt's trailer is totaled, though. It's like a goner. My schools' gym, choir room, and student store are trashed. Like, they're just rubble. My mom got hail damage on her car and there's some shingles to be replaced, but I didn't lose any of my family. So I guess that's okay.
My mom and dad helped out some people, giving them water and giving them rides to their homes.
My choir teacher was on a vacation so she probably doesn't know that our school got hit.
Anyway, at my school there were only two injured. So yep.
But yeah. The tornado was an F-5. It was about 17 miles wide and as my mother says, "was slower than a snail".
At 2:45 which was 13 minutes after we were supposed to leave, we were locked down in our junior high. Only parents and guardians were allowed to pick us up.
My grandma then ran in and picked me up. Hail and rain were pouring down and you could almost see the tornado coming towards us when we got home. It was about 3:10 when we got in the shelter. I think the tornado hit us at about 3:25. Somewhere around that. It was really scary... You could hear it flying around.
But yeah it was really scary....
Anyway, I might be inactive for a while because there's still a lot going on and we still don't have electric (as I said before we're running on a generator right now..)
