Help and get the 'ok' introduction thread back
Very recently the 'ok' introduction thread was locked by Cher and this action seemed to be supported by ⋆ Phia ⋆ and ☿ Mᴇʀᴄᴜʀʏ (as they both liked the last post). I believe that the locking of the thread was completely unwarranted. Any input that was put into the decision was obviously ill advised.
The thread was locked before "it went out of hand". There was nothing in that thread that couldn't be handled as all three moderators (namely ⋆ Phia ⋆, ☿ Mᴇʀᴄᴜʀʏ and Cher) were observing the thread very closely. The locking of the thread wasn't supported by any of the forum wide rules. In addition to that there isn't any rule that states members can't joke around in an introduction thread. The description of the board states that the board should be used to get to know the members/staff of this site. I got to know a lot about the members of this site so clearly the thread was meeting its purpose.
I believe that the thread was locked due to the occasional profane language, taboo subjects and sarcastic arguments. Once again, I looked at the forum rules and none of the guidelines state that any of the former were disallowed. In fact, it didn't mention them at all. These rules were put in place by the owner of this site. If the staff members can lock a thread that wasn't breaking any rules then technically I could remake the thread without any punishments being put upon me.
This petition was made to show them that we won't back down and we'll all fight for our thread. That we'll demand the things that are dear to us. That we'll express ourselves in a way we deem appropriate. To do this, we'll get our thread unlocked.
Lastly, the thread was a testimony to the humor and eccentricity of this site's user base. Not to mention that the majority of the posters seemed to enjoy having such a thread. Please support this petition by posting "support" on this thread and try to spread the word to your friends and acquaintances. Your individual support will be a step in the right direction. You know exactly what to do. Thank you.
