Attention HITS Members!
There's our first announcement already! Alright, I want to make a quick notice about making purebred clan cats. That means, making clan cats that are of a specific domesticated cat breed, and therefore don't consist of 100% what we call, "warrior blood". After speaking with Seren, we've decided that purebreds in clans will be prohibited. Unless, of course, you've made your purchases from the Shop! (if the Shop doesn't include the breed you're looking for, send a PM to Phia, and we can discuss the price of using that specific breed!)
But why?
This is solely to make things more realistic. Fancy cat breeds wouldn't normally occur in the wild, and while it's indeed possible to have your character obtain certain characteristics through genetics, it's impossible to get a purebred in a clan without implying they're an outsider. Yep, this is the only realistic way to bring a purebred cat in a clan; have them come in from the outside. Which means they don't have "warrior blood". But that's not so bad, is it? That way, you are more than welcome to bring your fancy cat breeds into a clan- including a thread that stresses their acceptance into said clan. That's right, you'll kind of have to use Firepaw's sneaky style here.
What happens to HiddenClan's purebreds?
If you have HiddenClan cats that are purebred, you may keep them as they are. HiddenClan is basically a clan full of mutts, meaning our lineage is not pure-clan. Most of the older HiddenClan Warriors came with Serenitystar from ThunderClan. After HiddenClan's birth, there was a period of time when rogues and loners were accepted without question into the new clans. Such cats were Nightcloud who was a loner prior to joining and Amethystmoon who was born in a distant clan before finding HiddenCan. These days, HiddenClan does not accept quite so many outsiders, but out of all the clans, they are the most lenient when it comes to warrior blood.
So which breed is acceptable for clan cats?
The official form for creating your characters does not require you to mention their breed, which just implies your character has the well-known warrior blood. If you really feel the need to mention their breed, you can use the common American Shorthair; this breed has plenty of variations in coat patterns as well as colours, so you can still be as creative as you like while also staying realistic!
