Welcome!

Now that the majority of us have settled into our new lovely site, it's time to spice things up a little! That's right, it's time for HITS' first site-wide contest! This time, it's one every single one of you can take part in. It's as simple as an Advertising Contest! ^-^

What do I have to do?

Certainly not something hard or time-consuming at all. We're asking you to help us bring some extra traffic around here, and you will be rewarded for your efforts! All you have to do is go around other ProBoards sites (just like our own) and post our advertisement banner on their Advertising board. Where is our advertising banner you say? It's located right here! You only have to go around different ProBoards RPGs and copy-paste it. Simple and easy! Set your name as your HITS username (for example, mine would be 'Phia') so we know it's you. Your title should include "Hidden in the Stars, warriors rpg". Here's an example of a good advertising post; click.

Where do I start?

This is an equally easy one. Are you part of another RPG site apart from Hidden in the Stars? If yes, you can start from there. If you're not, simply type in google "proboards rpg". You'll be faced with a fair amount of results; popular RPG sites as well as some lists of Top ProBoards sites. After you've started on one, continue on to different sites by following that site's affiliates (little icons that link to other sites, they're usually located on dynamic tables on the side of the forum or at the bottom) or just clicking on other advertisements on the advertising board. The sites you choose to advertise on don't have to be Warriors RPGs, they can be anything! Horse RPGs, Anime RPGs, Canine & Feline RPGs, anything you can find! Just make sure it's roleplaying-related. Don't go advertising Warriors on a video games site! And what will you gain from all this you ask? Well, that brings us to...

» Rules!

Just like any contest, there are certain rules to follow. Make sure you follow these rules if you want to be able to claim your prize when the contest ends! If you're caught breaking any of these rules, you will be disqualified.

• Post below with a list of links that lead to each of your advertisements. Do not store them in a notepad file and just post them when you're done; post your first 5 advertisements and edit your list as needed. (staff as well as others need to keep track of where you advertise)

• Only one advertisement per site. Once you've arrived on a site, you don't go straight to the advertising board and post an advertisement. Check the front page of the board to see if anybody else has already advertised there for Hidden in the Stars; if you don't find anything, proceed to post.

• You must make at least 10 advertisements to be an official part of the contest.

• Everyone gets 1,000HS for participating!

I already posted an advertisement on Mweor. I have the HTML coding for the advertisement you coded, and I'm willing to share it with anybody who wants to advertise on a site that uses HTML / not Proboards, like Awyas or FelisFire. :3

Please link to your advertisements, not the sites you've advertised on. Linking to the advertisement itself includes both.

To avoid posts that would end up with messed up coding, I suggested only ProBoards sites for which we have provided exact forms (well, with v5 converting coding that is even inside [.code] tags you guys will still have to edit out a few things before the ad is ready to post so- always preview) but also because you can be sure roleplayers will see your advertisements if it's done on Proboards RPGs. I'm not sure how literate people are on adoptable sites like Mweor (although from my few visits, the specific site looks decent enough on the roleplaying field) still, my point is, you can advertise outside ProBoards if you want, but I'd rather you guys focused on ProBoards. I hope to see more of you participating during the weekend! :)
