MEMBER SHOPS
Hello and welcome! Here I will explain how you can set up your very own shop on Hidden in the Stars v.2 so that other members may purchase items from you in exchange for Hidden Stones. Follow these rules and guidelines and you will have your very own shop in no time! Let's get started!
Step 1
Deciding What to Sell.
There are quite a few things members will be allowed to sell to other members. For the most part they include:
- Gaphics - such as edited images, banners or avatars.
- Exclusive Character Artwork.
- Posting Tables.
These of course are the most common things members may sell, but if you have other ideas, feel free to sell those as well, just double-check with a Staff Member to make sure the item is appropriate to sell.
Step 2
Setting a Price.
Setting a good price for your products is a key element to getting a lot of traffic to your shop. If you're familiar with economics at all you will know that price is one of the most important elements a consumer looks at when deciding whether or not to buy your product. There is no set price you must ask for a product, but remember, the more expensive the product is, the less amount of people are likely to buy it. Find the happy medium where both producer and comsumer are happy with. Here are two suggestions to help with pricing:
1. Discuss price-options with Staff Members, it's likely they will have a good knowledge on fair prices.
2. Check with other Shops to see the current prices of products similar to yours.
Step 3
Open your Shop.
Create a new thread with the name of your Shop. Be sure to include vital information including prices and descriptions of your products. Be sure to provide examples of your work so that buyers know what to expect! When opening a graphics shop, it is important for the buyer and seller to both be aware of what is the expected outcome of the product. Shop Owners should provide a form to be filled out by the customer with clear information on a desired outcome. Here is a common form used in Graphic Shops:
Character Name: Simply the character's name with a link to their application or Log.
References Any reference pictures you may have of the character.
Desired Pose: A description of the pose you wish to see them in.
Background: A description of the desired background.
Text: Any desired text?
Remember, the form is to help both you and your customer so you each know what is expected. The more detailed, the better. You may use the example above as a template and edit in any sort of element relevant to your shop.
Step 4
Sold!
If you're a member looking to pay a shop owner or a shop owner looking to get paid, follow these quick instructions:
1. Go to the Transactions Log and copy the form provided.
2. Fill out the form and post it on the thread.
3. Wait until the Transaction has been completed. A Staff Member will post after you on the thread to let you know when it's done.
4. Review your Transactions on the Transactions Log.
Oh gosh this thread reminds me too much of my Economics class. *cringe*
